Steam Team & Mine

The Steam Team and Mining Group are regularly at the Museum to show their working areas in action. They get stuck in to such tasks as; repairing and restoring machinery, preparing for events, and even performing demonstrations to visitors.

The Mining Group is a part of the Friends and helps us with the development, maintenance and operation of the mining exhibits including the Racecourse Colliery and the Brook Shaft Pit.

The Steam Team is a team within the Mining Group which is dedicated to the operation of the Museum's steam plant and gas engines.

If you like the idea of being in a group of hardworking, friendly and approachable people, who enjoy developing their practical skills, then do get in touch. We may have the right place for you.
