Black Country Living Museum is hosting a book signing event for ‘A Cast Iron Will’ by Sheila Dibnah on 23 November, 2013 from 2.00pm to 3.30pm – a tribute to Fred Dibnah.  Fearless courage, a passion for ‘mechanicing’ and an open, friendly smile made steeplejack Fred Dibnah a familiar name worldwide. His ability to demolish chimneys and lovingly resurrect vintage machinery was documented in a number of programmes that are still shown regularly on TV.

Poetry Winner Waxes Lyrical about Regionís Past

BlackCountry Living Museum today announced the winner of its second Annual Prize Poetry Competition.  Roz Goddard from Cradley Heath walked away with first prize for her poem ‘The Break-In’, closely followed by runners-up Julian Sutton from Devon with his poem ‘Black Country Night’; Louise Wilford from Barnsley with ‘Clee’; and Pippa Little from Northumberland with ‘Cobbles’.
