Our two little pigs finally have names!

30 April 2014

During the Easter holidays, this little brother and sister arrived at the Museum with no names, so we set out in a public search to give the two little piglets a fitting name. The piglets are a rare breed of Middle White and are now residing in the garden of the Museum’s tilted cottage ‘Jerushah’.

Over the last few weeks, we have run a ‘name the pigs’ competition through our website and facebook pages. We received hundreds of entries, some  after famous Black Country people, brands and food. Here are just a few of our favourites Aynuk and Ayli, Dolly and Alan, Groaty and Pudding, Iggle and Piggle. However, there has to be only one winner and our Communications & Marketing Director has chosen, Jo Jervis from Milking Bank, Dudley, who entered the names Priory for the little girl piglet and Himley, for her brother.

Laura Wakelin, Director of Communications & Marketing said “Congratulations to Jo, the two winning names were selected for our pigs as they were a unique entry and a reminder of some of our wonderful green spaces in the area”

Jo and her 9 year old daughter are the lucky winners of a family ticket to the Museum, where they will be able to visit this Spring to meet the two little piglets, who are now proudly named Priory & Himley.
