New Characters Paint a Picture of 1900s Life

16 August 2013

Black Country Living Museum announced today that it will be launching fifteen new characters in the autumn, to further enhance its learning offer in response to the revised 2014 national curriculum.

The characters stepped out today for a photocall with the press and a dress rehearsal. The new characters include a doctor, an undertaker, a chimney sweep, a flower seller, a pie man, a post woman, a Salvation Army character, a canal boatwoman, a widower, a midwife, street sellers, a working man and a pit bonk wench. Each character has a fascinating tale to tell of life in the early 1900s and each brings Black Country memories and voices flooding back.
