Maped Helix team with BCLM for National Stationery Week

29 April 2015

With National Stationery Week all set to celebrate pens, pencils and paper-based products across the UK, hundreds of local school children will be doing likewise, courtesy of our partnership with the Kingswinford based business.

As one of the sponsors of National Stationery Week, Maped Helix is giving all schools visiting our Museum during the commemorative week – from April 27 to May 3 - a generous classroom bundle of stationery equipment to promote the art of handwriting amongst youngsters.

Maped Helix has been synonymous with the stationery world for 128 years, with the Black Country company creating a catalogue of ground-breaking products that have inspired generations to learn, including the invention of the modern drawing compass.

Since its birth in 1887 the company has built up a reputation as the go-to place for stationery needs. Its famous Oxford brand was launched in 1935 and continues to be known across the globe for the original and best maths set on the market.

Mel Weatherly,BCLM's Head of Learning said: “We’re delighted to work with Maped Helix for National Stationery Week. The drive to encourage the written word is indeed a very important one in an increasingly technology-driven world. We would like to extend a grateful thanks to Maped Helix for providing stationary to schools who visit us during this week.”
