How much do you really know about the British 'Tommy'? Find out at the Great War Weekend...

WW1 Weekend BCLM

28 January 2016

Most people in the United Kingdom will have someone in their family history who served during the Great War of 1914-18. Most of us have heard about trench warfare and the large-scale loss of life – but what was everyday living like for the British ‘Tommy’? Award-winning Great War living history group, The Great War Society, will be at the Museum this weekend (30 January – 31 January 2016) to bring you closer to this period of history.

The Great War Society will be based across the Museum’s 26 acres for the entire weekend. In authentic period costume, they will be giving talks on the lives of the soldiers during WW1. The group will be displaying uniforms, weapons and other war paraphernalia as well as undertaking live demonstrations of training and drills to bring to life this important period of history.

Normal admission prices apply. You can also use your BCLM UnChained Annual Pass for this event.
