We’re pleased to announce that we have been successful in our application to become an Arts Council England (ACE) National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) for 2018-2022.

We will receive £550,000 for each of the four years of investment, a significant amount of which will support our major development project BCLM: Forging Ahead including the growth and development of our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Maths) Learning Programme and Community Engagement Programme with communities across the Black Country.

Having been an ACE funded Major Partner Museum for three years, we now join several other Black Country organisations in Arts Council England’s National Portfolio of 831 museums, libraries and arts organisations, including Black Country Touring with whom we hope to work with over the coming years.

Peter Knott, Area Director, Arts Council England said: "The Black Country Living Museum keeps the region's industrial legacy alive for people to discover and explore. Its extensive collections are a valuable historical asset for the region and country and we're delighted to be investing in its work over the next four years."

Andrew Lovett comments “This continued significant investment from Arts Council England is fantastic news for the Museum and the communities we serve. As well as supporting our major development project BCLM: Forging Ahead, the activities we pursue as an NPO will help us ensure the future resilience of both BCLM and the wider museum sector as we continue our national programme for the next generation of cultural leaders.”
