Clean Sweep for Development Director

21 May 2014

Our Director of Development, Vicki Stanley, closed her fundraising bids, transferred /media/news/library/s6301636.jpgher busy phone line to voicemail and replaced them with a sweeping brush, mop & bucket and cleaning rags for the day.

As part of the Museum's 'Managers Back To The Floor' initiative, Vicki swapped her office suits for a more casual attire to spend the day with the Cleaning Team.  Gail Davies took Vicki around buildings in the Museum’s village and explained how cleaning at the Museum is no ordinary task, special cleaning equipment is used not only to look in keeping with the time period whilst walking through the village during opening hours, but to also not use any damaging modern chemicals on the furniture and floors which date back to over 100 years old.

/media/news/library/s6301640.jpgVicki worked with Gail last week, cleaning allocated buildings for the day including the chapel, she said "I really enjoyed spending the morning with Gail and seeing more of our fantastic collection up close. With over 60 buildings at the Museum, the Cleaning Team do a great job day in day out and in all weathers.”

A big thank you to Gail & Vicki for taking part in this scheme.
