Bean Reunited

Bean Car

26 September 2014

Earlier this week, we welcomed two special guests, all the way from Adelaide, Australia; to be reunited with a little piece of their family history.

During family history research; the French family, now relocated in Australia, discovered that in 1925, Timothy French's Great-Grandfather was a proud owner of a Bean car, being one of only two people on his street to own a car; this was certainly something to be proud of.

Timothy's research led him to find that the Bean 14 car, made in Dudley, had been sold on and later became part of BCLM's collection in the mid 1970s.

Timothy French and his father, Graeme were both reunited with the family car and were chauffeur driven around our canalside village.

The first picture above is Timothy's great-grandfather driving the car on a family holiday in North Wales, probably in the Colwyn Bay area. The second picture below was taken at BCLM as Timothy and his father came all the way from Australia to be reunited with the family car.
