BCLM: Forging Ahead Planning Application Successfully Submitted

Forging Ahead Planning Application

10 January 2018

The first of the planning applications for our major development project, BCLM: Forging Ahead were submitted to Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council (DMBC) on 8 December 2017.

The planning applications, which include extensive project designs for the new Visitor Centre and historic development, were hand delivered to the DMBC offices by Hayley McCafferty-David, Project Manager and Greg Day, Architectural Technologist.

The planning applications have subsequently been validated by DMBC and allocated the reference nos. P17/1718 and P17/1720.

They are now within their formal consultation period during which members of the public can express support for, or raise concerns about the proposed plans.  These can be submitted to DMBC via the Planning section of the DMBC website.

We also issued formal notices to our  local neighbours and planning notices are being displayed near to the entrance on the Tipton Road.

Over thirty of our neighbours  took the opportunity to view the plans and ask the project team questions at a public event at the Tipton Road attraction last Thursday 4 January.

Hayley McCafferty-David, BCLM: Forging Ahead Project Manager said “This is a key milestone for the project, the future of the Museum and the local area. We’re glad that people took advantage of the opportunity to see the plans and to chat to the project team on 4 January. Forging Ahead is very much a project with people and stories at its heart and so we want to make sure that it progresses in a way which best suits the majority.”

Full planning application for twelve of the buildings within the historic development has also been submitted.
