Limekilns, completed by 1842. These kilns were used for burning the limestone quarried nearby in the Wren's Nest and Castle Hill. The 'quick lime' produced from this process could be used in mortar, as a fertiliser or to make whitewash. The kilns are one of the few original features on the Museum site, and they form part of the Wrens Nest Limestone Works Scheduled Monument.
