World Alzheimer's Day

21 September - 21 September 2019

World Alzheimer's Month is a time to recognise the impact of Dementia and supports those affected locally and globally.

Black Country Living Museum hosts a number of initiatives to encourage inclusion by hosting support groups such as the Me, Myself and I group. Join us on World Alzheimer’s Day for a celebration of Charles Grigg and his life plus the launch of the book ‘The Life of Charlie ‘Chas’ Grigg’ in the morning (10.30am - 1.30pm) followed by live music, spoken word, and cartoonist session in the Museum in the afternoon. (2.30-5pm).

The late Charles Grigg, was born and bred in the Black Country and lived most of his life in Oldbury. He was a British comic artist for DC Thomson and was the true artistic flair behind The Dandy, Korky the Cat and Desperate Dan. He takes pride of place as we shine a light on his life and his experience of living with dementia.

The book will be on sale in the shop, net profits from the book will be donated to two charities- the Alzheimer's society and the Me myself and I Carer support group

This event is free to attend but must be pre-booked.

Please note, if you wish to visit the Museum, admission prices apply.
