Unwrapping Christmas - CANCELLED

05 December - 24 December 2020

We have taken the difficult decision to cancel Unwrapping Christmas - our current Christmas daytime visit.

We’re sorry that we’ve had to take this decision and for any disappointment this may cause.  We're are currently looking at options for an alternative pre-Christmas daytime visit that we can host under Tier 3 restrictions.  We will publish details of this as soon as possible.

In the meantime, should you have any questions about your December booking, please contact our Sales & Ticketing team on 0121 520 8054 – Monday - Friday (10am-4pm), or email  Please bear in mind that we may not able to meet our usual response times during this period, but we will get back to you.

Join us as we unwrap the history of Christmas in the Black Country!

This year, we will be telling the stories of Christmas through time, from the traditional tales of a cosy Victorian winter all the way through to a cracking 1960s Christmas!

  • Head to the village to discover the origins of the Christmas traditions we know today, inspired by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert
  • See how World War One affected the celebrations of families in the Black Country
  • Discover the story of a 1930s Christmas and hear the very first Royal Christmas radio broadcast
  • Pop in to Folkes Park to be transported to a groovy 1960s Christmas and hear some of the classic festive tunes!

Unwrapping Christmas is a general admission event, therefore UnChained Passes (and Memberships) are valid for entry. Pre-booking your entry time is essential. Please check our website for opening times and available dates - booking is now open.

Please note that during the weekends of Sat 12, Sun 13, Sat 19 & Sun 20 Dec, our Enchanted Christmas special event will take place instead of Unwrapping Christmas.  UnChained Passes and Memberships are not valid for admission to our An Enchanted Christmas event, and tickets must be booked in advance.  You can find more information about An Enchanted Christmas  here.
