Explore, learn and discover the Industrial Revolution in a purpose built Minecraft world. 

Working within a safe and secure digital environment, complete a series of challenges developed and delivered by Minecraft Global Mentors and fully qualified teachers from Tablet Academy. 

By combining real life experiences at Black Country Living Museum with the virtual world of Minecraft, children can design and build virtual machines mimicking the real life machines here at the Museum. Learn the science behind the machines and discover the significance of the role of the machines in our history. 

For ages 8 - 15. 

All participants will be rewarded with a Duke of York iDEA Digital Badge  worth 25 points towards a Duke of York Bronze Award.

Workshop Time: 10am till 4pm

Cost: £15 for the full day including museum entrance

Maximum capacity: 15 participants

Notes to parents/carers.

  • Parents/carers are asked to drop off their child between 9.45am and 10.00am. The workshop will start at 10am prompt.
  • Participants will be ready for collection at 4pm.
  • Children are required to bring a packed lunch and refreshments. Water and juice will be provided throughout the day.
  • Previous experience of Minecraft is preferred but not required.
  • Parents are welcome to stay on-site and explore the museum independently but an entrance fee is required.
