Meet the Distiller - Gin Tasting Night - Sold Out

19 October - 20 October 2018

This evening event has now sold out - for similar events check out our Whiskey, Malts & Blends Evening

Enjoy an evening with  the experts from Whitley Neill, as they guide you through their top  choices of flavoured gin.  Learn about the history of gin and, of course, enjoy the all-important sampling too!

With eight  generations of distilling history the Whitley Neill family have seen every gin craze since the mid 1700s. What better place to learn about their history than here at the Black Country Living Museum?

The Whitley Neill range has evolved from the original South African inspired London Dry and now includes flavours such as Rhubarb and Ginger and Blood Orange.

For this exclusive evening event, our friendly Victorian policeman will welcome you and take you on a tour. Climb aboard our traditional bus for a journey through the Museum, stopping at the Workers Institute where  a glass of G&T will be awaiting your arrival with a souvenir  Whitley Neill glass that’s yours to keep.

Settle in with your welcome drink  and learn about the history of gin, the family’s history and then the all-important sampling accompanied by a tasty selection of the finest “Black Country Tapas”.

To complete your night, enjoy an evening stroll through the Museum's gas-lit village; pop into our famous fish & chip shop for your supper, or head down to the Bottle & Glass Inn for a local pint or one of our wide range of whiskies or gins. Whilst spirits are high, there is no better way to finish off a traditional night in the pub by enjoying a sing along with our pub pianist.
