Forge Experience Day - Sold out

20 October 2018

This Experience Day has now sold out -  Find out about similar   Experiences at BCLM

A "hands on" experience of Blacksmithing under the experienced guidance of our Locksmith Demonstrator.

Set in the atmospheric Edwardian house and lockmaking workshops of the Hodson family – experience life of one of the many family businesses that made Willenhall the heart of lockmaking since the Industrial Revolution.  Our Locksmith will introduce you to the forge, show you the basic  forging tools and how to  use them.

Experience lockmaking  and learn how to forge a point, a flat and a bend into a piece of metal, some of the key elements to forging a padlock.

Enjoy some light refreshments as we serve up  lunch and,  as a souvenir of your experience, you will be able to take home a   bar from a bar padlock and nails.

Please note this event is not at Black Country Living Museum, and takes place at: The Locksmith's House, 54 New Road, Willenhall, WV13 2DA
