1940s Weekend (Daytime) - SOLD OUT

17 July - 18 July 2021

Tickets for 1940s Weekend (Daytime) have now sold out. Limited tickets still available for our 1940s Evening.

1940s Weekend is back and better than ever!

Join us on Sat 17 and Sun 18 July (10am-5pm) as we transform the Museum with vintage vehicles, 40s civilians, and military personnel to bring the home-front experience to life.

Explore an electric wartime atmosphere of entertainment, nostalgia and fashion.  Enjoy the spirit of the 1940s as you:

  • Meet iconic characters including Winston Churchill and George Formby
  • Discover how people dealt with air-raids as you visit an Anderson shelter
  • Experience life as an evacuee with a lesson in St James’s School
  • Sample our bostin’ 1940s fittle (fortunately fish & chips were never rationed!)
  • Snap up some picture-perfect wartime ephemera, from 1940s dresses to suits to homewares, at our vintage memorabilia markets

The weekend will also feature a host of vintage entertainment including live music from the D-Day Darlings, wartime variety shows, austerity-busting ‘make do and mend’ workshops, street re-enactors and special live demonstrations.

Daytime entry to 1940s Weekend is via a pre-booked ticket only.

You can also join us in the evening on Sat  17 July from 7pm for a special VE-Day themed celebration headlined by the D-Day Darlings.  Find out more here.
