Free Wheeling Toys

Duration: 1 Hour 30 Minutes Capacity (max.): 30 pupils Age Group: KS1 Cost: £35 + VAT



Pupils explore existing products with wheels and axels to develop their ideas and evaluate their success. They then use this knowledge to develop their own ideas and assemble their own toy based on these observations and design criteria. Throughout the workshop, the pupils develop their technical knowledge and understanding including the use of appropriate vocabulary.



- To apply the knowledge and understanding gained from the investigation activities to the designing and making process.
- To generate ideas and simple design criteria for a free-wheeling toy.
-  To select and assemble components to make a working model.
- To develop technical knowledge through learning how a vehicle moves using wheels and axles using relevant technical vocabulary.
