Boat Collection

Our Boat Dock is located alongside a canal branch, which is believed to have been formed by mining subsidence in the middle of the nineteenth century.

The canal and dock are home to a vast collection which represents a range of construction and boat types. The oldest boat in our collection, Bessie, dating 1895, is now permanently landlocked.

The most famous of our collection is the well known historic working boat, President steam narrow boat, built in 1909. See a virtual tour of President.
