Your visit to the Black Country doesn’t need to stop with the Museum; stay in Dudley and experience the Castle Hill attractions, restaurants and leisure complex - you’ll be amazed at what you can see and do within a short walk

The Black Country is renowned for being the World’s First Industrial Landscape.

All of the industry came from natural resources and has left the region with so many hidden greats including; endless canal networks, beautiful parks and nature reserves, limestone caverns, geological sites, a rich glass making heritage, an expansive mining heritage and lace guilds. 


The borough of Dudley hosts several market towns including Dudley, Stourbridge, Brierley Hill, Kingswinford and Netherton. On the outskirts of Dudley town centre is the INTU Merry Hill Shopping and Leisure Centre.

Castle Hill attractions (includes BCLM) are located just ½ a mile away from Dudley Town Centre.

The Stourbridge Glass Quarter has a 400 year history of glassmaking. Examples of craftmanship new and old can be found at the Red House GlassconeWhite House Cone and the Ruskin Glass Centre.

Dudley borough boasts a number of local nature reserves, showcasing the areas rich flora, fauna, geology and heritage.  The nature reserves include Barrow Hill, Buckpool and Fens Pools, Bumble Hole and Warrens Hall, Cotwall End, Saltwells, The Leasowes and the World famous geological site Wren's Nest National Nature Reserve.

Just 10 miles away - Birmingham

Birmingham has a compelling and eclectic arts scene, vibrant bars, numerous nightspots and endless rated restaurants. Comedy clubs, theatres and gigs for all.  It also has world renowned City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham Royal Ballet, International Conference Centre, NEC and NIA.
