Sewing Room Volunteers

Our sewing room is open to all who have basic sewing skills and a passion for vintage clothing.

Our volunteers help out in a number of ways, here’s what might be involved in volunteering in the sewing room:

  • Utilising patterns and using sewing machines to make accurate vintage clothing, according to interests and skills
  • Basic sewing duties; sewing, cutting, hemming, etc.
  • Supporting our Learning and Curatorial teams projects
  • Getting involved in our events programme
  • Working independently or in a team

You can support our costumes provision with your sewing skills, whether you are experienced or have only learnt the basics. Have a few spare hours per week and an itch to develop your creativity skills?

Unfortunately, there are no opportunities currently available within this team, however please check out our current opportunities to volunteer at BCLM
