Long Lost Cat Discovered ‘Living in the Past’ at BCLM

Museum regular 16 year old Tiger the cat has been harbouring a rather purr-plexing secret. Fourteen years ago he ran away from his owner to join Black Country Living Museum’s Maintenance Team, creating a purr-fect new life for himself. However, a recent trip to the vet blew the fraudulent feline’s cover when it was revealed that Tiger was once the much-loved pet of Rachel Wells who is a veterinary nurse at White Cross Vets in Wolverhampton.

Black Country Racecourse Colliery

BCLM Receives £129k Grant for Racecourse Colliery Restoration

A grant totalling £128,490 has been donated to Black Country Living Museum for the restoration of its racecourse colliery, Matt Hancock (Minister of State for Digital Culture) announced today. The grant from DCMS/Wolfson Museums and Galleries Improvement Fund has been awarded to 39 Museums across the country and are designed to “increase access, improve displays and enhance public spaces”.
