Nerves of steel and a little Dutch courage are recommended at Black Country Living Museum’s Halloween Night on Thursday 31 October, 2013 where costumed demonstrators are likely to be upstaged and out-dressed by Museum visitors.   The 1900s streets transform into catwalks of curiosity as members of the public, dressed in macabre costumes, master the fashion of fear.

The Locksmith's House in Willenhall, West Midlands is taking a leaf out of the history books by stepping back in time for an Edwardian Christmas celebration on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 December from 7.00pm – 9.30pm, that is so last century!   This event will give visitors a rare opportunity to see the only surviving lock-maker’s house and workshop, in a town which was once the UK’s lock making capital.

New Characters Paint a Picture of 1900s Life

  •             New Museum characters bring reality of 1900s’ living to life.
  •     Education charity launches new resource for Key Stage 2 students.

Black Country Living Museum announced today that it will be launching fifteen new characters in the autumn, to further enhance its learning offer in response to the revised 2014 national curriculum.  Stepping out into the sunshine the characters will don their costumes on Thursday 15 August, 2013 for a rehearsal.
