Holiday Prize Draw Fundraiser for Centenarian Old Lady's Rear End Repair

  • Prize draw fundraiser for 100 year old narrow boat
  • £2,000 worth of holiday boat hire up for grabs

 Two boating holidays are up for grabs at Black Country Living Museum where a prize draw will take place on 5 November.  The prize draw appeal will be launched to raise funds for 100 year old narrow boat Kildare's rear end repair and put her back to original construction.  The lucky winner will sail away with £2,000 worth of holiday boat hire from ABC Boat Hire* and the second prize draw winner will win a weekend away courtesy of Calcutt Boats.

The age-old tradition of willow weaving is enjoying a resurgence of popularity and Black Country Living Museum hopes its Beginners Willow Basket Weaving Course, which takes place on Saturday 11 May from 10am to 4pm, will encourage people to branch out and unlock their artistic potential.

Museum launches Canal Art and Craft courses

Black Country Living Museum today launched the second season of its popular Canal Art and Craft Courses, teaching waterways traditions that will float your boat. Canal Art for Beginners: Roses and Castles takes place on Saturday 11 May whilst Canal Craft takes place on 22 June, 2013.
