Generous Olympic torchbearers Juanita Williams and Dennis Sanders have loaned an official Olympic torch and torchbearer’s uniform to Black Country Living Museum to put on public display.

Look Twice

Look Twice at Museum this Summer

20 July 2012

Summer sunshine is scheduled to hit the 1900s streets at Black Country Living Museum this summer where an action-packed programme of activities is on the menu for the holidays, from Saturday 21 July to Sunday September 2, 2012.  A family friendly discovery trail looks at the world and encourages youngsters to ‘Look Twice’ at the many weird and wonderful objects found on the Museum’s 26-acre site.  The three faced ‘liar’ clock can tell you the time but which of its three faces is telling the truth?

Black Country Flag

Winning Black Country Flag Announced

19 July 2012

Black Country Living Museum has announced the winning design in their official Black Country Flag competition.  Nearly 1500 votes were cast by the public with 11 year old Gracie Sheppard’s eye-catching design standing out as the winner. The UK Flag Institute has now confirmed Gracie Sheppard’s design as the official Black Country Flag and it will be flown at the Black Country Living Museum in time for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, 2012.

Museum Alive with Forties Glamour

Visitors are invited to jive and jitterbug their way to the Booking Office where tickets are still available for Black Country Living Museum’s 1940s Evening which takes place on Saturday 21 July, 2012. This is one of the Museum’s most glamorous nights of the year where everything is rationed - except the fun!

Real Relay

A Real Relay for CHICKS

Today Black Country Living Museum welcomed the Endurancelife Real Relay, which is a national attempt to follow the entire route of the official Olympic Torch around the British Isles in one continuous non-stop journey, running every step of the way, to raise money for the children’s charity, CHICKS, providing free respite breaks for disadvantaged and underprivileged children across the UK.
