Half Price Night at the Museum

Building on the success of last year's event Black Country Living Museum will be throwing open its doors after hours on Saturday 19 May at half the usual daily admission price, as part of the European Night of Museums 2012 event.  Museums at Night is the annual after-hours celebration of arts, culture and heritage when hundreds of museums, galleries and heritage sites across the UK and Europe open their doors for a special evening of events.

Museum Lights the Touch Paper for Free Torch Draw

The Olympic Flame is coming to Black Country Living Museum on Saturday 30 June and the Museum is gearing up for a spectacular day of celebrations. Today, the award-winning destination announced details of its free, ticketed Olympic-themed event which will shine a light on the region’s rich historic, cultural and sporting heritage.

Flotilla fit for a Queen

11 April 2012

President, one of the world’s only surviving steam powered narrow boats, prepares to set sail from Black Country Living Museum on 10 April, 2012.  The boat, bound for Etruria in Stoke-on-Trent, will start a journey which will see the 100-year old steamer take part in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant, on behalf of HM Lord-Lieutenant of Staffordshire in a ‘flotilla fit for a Queen’.
