Ticket Sales Rocket for Bonfire Night Spectacular

Bonfire Night WITHOUT THE BANG has made an explosive start at Black Country Living Museum where bright sparks have turned up the heat on ticket sales and demand for the November 3 Guy Fawkes extravaganza has rocketed. 

Black Country Living Museum’s traditional celebration is one of the regions most talked about Bonfire Night celebrations.  The family orientated event celebrates Bonfire Night with roaring bonfires, traditional entertainment, hot roast chestnuts and a fairground in full swing.  Bonfires cast an orange glow across the Museum's canalside village which will be lit up by candle and gas light.

Fizzog Productions are bringing their unique brand of Black Country humour
to Black Country Living Museum this season where they will be appearing at
the Iron Ladies of Cradley Heath event on Saturday 20 October. Later in the
year, the highly acclaimed theatre group will be performing a Black Country
Pantomime - 'Kippin Beauty' during the Museum's Tradtional Christmas
Evenings on 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22 December, 2012.

Animal Magic Casts a Spell on Halloween

Friday 26 and Saturday 27 October, 2012 6.30pm – 10.00pm

Black Country Living Museum will celebrate All Hallow’s Eve with hairy, scary, slimy, slithery, feathery creatures on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 October, 2012 when animal magic casts a spell over Halloween.  Birds of prey, hissing cockroaches, tarantulas, centipedes and snakes are just some of the nightmare creatures guaranteed to add a scream to the spooktacular event.

Designation Reaps Rewards for Black Country Living Museum

Black Country Living Museum has been successful in securing two awards from Arts Council England funding programmes to progress significant areas of work at the West Midlands attraction.

The Renaissance Strategic Support Fund supports specific development projects within regional museums and £120,000 has been awarded to the Museum to help increase its potential for commercial activity. The funds will be used to develop and update the Museum’s Rolfe Street complex which forms the main visitor reception area.

Museum Evolves to Deliver Educational Excellence

Black Country Living Museum, host to more than 290,000 visitors each year, including 67,000 pupils, is evolving its learning offer to deliver the best possible educational service to the 1,200 school groups who visit annually. If the current proposals are implemented the Museum’s learning programme, guided by Costumed Learning Assistants, will harness the Museum’s Designated collections to teach children about history, industry, science, art and design in an inspirational and stimulating setting.
