Museum Celebrates its 8 Millionth Milestone

8million

03 October 2013

Today, we greeted our 8-millionth visitor at the Museum since first opening its doors to the public in April 1978.  Linda Connor from Hailsham, East Sussex, received a warm fanfare welcome and an exclusive lifetime membership.

Linda Connor said: “I’m in the area with my sister visiting relatives in Cradley Heath.  We’ve been to the Museum before and absolutely love it.  I’ve never won anything like this before in my life.”

Linda was also presented with a certificate, a Museum hamper of locally produced goodies, a framed Museum print of her choice, a gift bag, an assortment of children’s gifts to take home for her grandchildren, complimentary lunch in the Museum’s village, and a round of drinks in the Bottle and Glass Inn, on the house.

Director and Chief Executive, Andrew Lovett said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Linda to the Museum and hopes she has a very special day.  Reaching our 8-millionth visitor is a hugely important milestone.  It is a measure of the public’s affection for the Museum and the significance of the story of the Black Country in its hey-day."
