London to Brighton Veteran Car Run

fifnella

30 October 2013

Our 1903 Sunbeam Tourer AA360, nicknamed 'Fifinella' will be taking part in this year's Veteran Car Run from London to Brighton on Sunday 3 November, where over 500 pre-1905 vehicles are expected to complete the run.

The Museum's vehicle volunteers have funded this event and have been working tirelessly to prepare the Sunbeam for the 60 mile run, it doesn't sound a lot for the modern day car but the vintage car's top speed is 19 miles an hour so it will take almost a full day to complete the run.

The NEC have worked with the Museum by providing a venue for the test runs of the Sunbeam and the volunteers managed to complete 24 miles on the NEC roads.

Fifinella will set off from Apsley Gate, Hyde Park Corner at 8.30am, will meet at the half way point at Crawley High Street, then meet again at the final checkpoint as they drive through Preston Park, Brighton and then hope to cross the finish line anytime between 10.30am - 4.30pm when the event finishes.
