Back to the Floor
22 April 2014
Our Director of Communications & Marketing, Laura Wakelin, took time out from her extremely busy role today to experience working during the highly attended Easter Holidays in our famous 1930s Fish & Chip Shop.
As part of the Museum's Managers Back To The Floor initiative, Laura dressed in whites to spend the day with our Fish & Chip Shop Manager, Denise George, who trained Laura in the secret skill of making & wrapping our very tasty fish & chips.
The training involved setting up for opening hours, learning the kitchens, how to make a paper cone and lay out the fish & chip and customer service skills not forgetting to ask "would you like any batter bits?"
The main picture above shows Laura serving chips to visitor Joanne Toby, who found herself unexpectedly being served by one of the Museum's Directors today.
Laura said "it was very hot, hard work and the smell of the fish & chips is divine making your belly rumble the whole shift!"
