Bakery
The bakery was rescued by the Museum from the rear of the shop that still stands in Birmingham Road Oldbury.
The bakery yard was entered from the towpath, exactly as it is at the Museum, and the building when first found was completely derelict with the roof having been burnt.
The bakery includes two direct coal-fired ovens and the 'trow' in which the dough would be mixed by hand.
Bread is regularly baked in the ovens but modern day hygiene regulations do not allow us to sell it to the public.
