Experience life in our Victorian bakery, baker’s parlour and baker's shop.

Meet your host with a welcoming  freshly brewed cuppa, put on your vintage  style clothes, tie up your apron and get ready to enjoy   some  Victorian baking with our specialist demonstrators.

Firstly, you will discover  the history of our baker's shop - Veal's , check the coal fired ovens are hot  and you’ll soon be on your way to making  some traditional loaves, put your imagination to work and create something tasty and decorative to take home and experience demonstrating your new skills to Museum visitors as they pass by the bakery windows.

Once you've tested your loaf making skills,  move on into Veal's shop parlour  to make some delicious  biscuits and experience how Victorian life works in our baker's shop. Take a tasty  goodie bag as a souvenir to enjoy at home.

It’s thirsty work so you’ll look forward to the billycans coming round with the tea and a  well-earned famous fish and chip lunch.
