Family Candle Making: Spring Flowers

Learn traditional candle making technique in our half day workshop.

Family members of all ages and generations will have the opportunity to experiment with colour and decoration to take home two beautiful creations.

Create a Spring themed scented container candle, using seasonal flowers.

Try traditional dipping techniques and create a taper candle, using bees or paraffin wax, have a go at a double dipped ‘two colour’ candle that can be twisted together for creative effect.

Following the workshop why not explore the Museum using our Family Arts Award Discover trail? Complete all the activities to gain an Arts Award and certificate from Trinity College, London. Arts Award Discover is the first level of a unique range of qualifications that support young people to grow as artists and arts leaders.

About the course leader: Beth Wilkinson

Beth has lived in Netherton for over 10 years and has a great interest in the heritage of area. During her Fine Art degree she developed her practical creative skills and now works as an experienced media and craft tutor, she has a keen interest in exploring traditional techniques within candle making and photography.
