Colliery Winding Engine

photo of colliery building

Our colliery is set in 1910, complete with a manager’s office in the weighbridge house from Rolfe Street in Smethwick. It represents a typical Black Country coal or fire clay mine.

The colliery winding engine is run by our Mine & Steam Team Volunteers as part of the colliery demonstration every Saturday from April until October.
