Scenes filmed at the Museum can be spotted throughout all three series including the Bottle & Glass Inn and out Workers' Institute.

The programme was BBC Daytime's first commission of a period drama and won the "Best Daytime Programme" at the 2010 Broadcast Awards. The drama also went on to win "Best Drama" at the Royal Television Society Awards. Becci Gemmell won the "Best Newcomer" award, with Sophie Ward and Danny Webb winning the "Best Actress" and "Best Actor" awards respectively.
