Hire BCLM for filming

Black Country Living Museum is a great location for filming and has welcomed many film crews from documentaries to feature films.

Our Museum village has a whole range of Edwardian, Victorian, 1930s and 1940s buildings, houses and shops with spectacular interiors to complement their period setting. Our steam engines, foundries, industrial wasteland, underground mine, canal boats, also lend themselves to create a spectacular filming location.

Based in Dudley, the Museum is centrally located in the UK, just 8 miles from Birmingham and only 3 miles from the M5 & M6, with the nearest train station just 1 mile away. There is a range of chain hotels, restaurants and a large leisure complex within 10 minutes walking distance.

Whilst we do accommodate filming, we are primarily a visitor attraction and therefore all filming is to be conducted outside of our Museum opening hours.

Requests will be considered on a case by case basis and no filming or photography will be allowed on site without prior consent. The Museum reserves the absolute right to grant or deny permission for filming and to determine the terms under which filming will be permitted.

Please download our Filming Regulations and Photography Regulations for more details.

If you are interested in discussing location hire of the Museum, please contact us by email or call 0121 557 9643. All filming enquiries will be directed to our Deputy Chief Executive (Communications & Marketing), who will be in touch with you to discuss details, arrange recces and tailor make a hire package to suit your needs.

Please note, due to demand on resources we are not currently accepting requests for coursework-related filming from students.
